Full-day itinerary between Piacenza and Grazzano Visconti, between the centre of ducal power and the place where the decision was taken to assassinate the Duke Pierluigi Farnese.
Piacenza: visit to Palazzo Farnese with its art collections, then walk to the Renaissance Church of San Sisto, to admire the wonderful intarsio choir stalls, then through winding mediaeval alleys to Piazza dei Cavalli with the equestrian statues of Alessandro and Ranuccio Farnese.

In the afternoon, visit the park of the castle of Grazzano Visconti, the place where they plotted the assassination of the first Farnese Duke. In the park centuries-old trees, parterres, fountains, a labyrinth and a delightful playhouse frame the old fortress.
